Getting ready for Spring!!

Hey all,

We are hitting Week 8 and going for our 2nd DR appointment in a week. I am very happy with things so far. Nicole has the persistent morning sickness going on, but she is doing well overall. No names yet, but we have big plans for the room already.

In other news, I got Nicole a GPS last week and she loves it; I got her the Garmin 320C. Its a nice basic unit, but was a good price of $200. It doesn't tell you the name of the road, just "turn right...turn left..' so on. It is VERY flexible on missing roads and will recalculate quickly the next best route. I hope the maps will be updated soon, as some of the roads are the older setups, but so far its only been one road.

SCHOOL: Just wanted to give a quick update to things going on. First off School is bad- not only did I not get a single engineering class once again this coming quarter (Spring 07), but when I asked the professor and councilor, they told me to keep trying. That will NOT fix the problem..Day students filling the class. A few of us had an idea on what to do to fix it and I have no idea if they will go for it or not, but none the less a letter to the Dean of Engineering is in order. The concept is to have part time night students be able to register for night time classes a week prior to the rest of the college;
EX: basketweaving 101 is offered from 6-10pm. As a night student, my student ID would reflect the fact that I am a part-time night student and have registration ability to sign up for the class. Johny Daytime kid cannot since he is a fulltime day student, and must wait 1 week after the registration period has started for that class. This should allow night students the ability to fill the classes first, then allow any other openings to anyone else wanting to take the class at that time a week later.

XBOX: So far - Rainbow 6 Vegas has been the game du jour. I met up with a good group of gamers that loves the game, is mature and no kiddies. I have met up with them for 2-3 times now and every time is fun. Guitar Hero2 got pushed back to April 3rd, so its perfect timing- Go Cruise, get back and Jam on songs :P I am still waiting for the expansion pack for R6Vegas with the 'assassination' maps - kill the El Presidente :P

GAMING: Got another board game - RAILROAD TYCOON ! It looks like alot of fun. Its a simple game that has some good planning needed, but overall just a fun game. No 'threatening' stuff; no trading.. just build railroads and improve your trains :D Also, I came across the SouthNJ Gaming group; this group meets 2 times a month and looks like they play the same types of games that I grew up with, along with some new ones.

Oh well - that's a good start for now- Look for 300 to come out next weekend - SHOULD BE AWESOME!! My mom and Uncle will be down that weekend, and we are going- just the guys, so its a guy movie night :) Guy movie night means guy dinner.. so maybe :o

It's Official - Baby Time!!

Hi all

NICOLE IS PREGNANT! We are so excited about the news :D She told me initially that she was when i got back from Dave's wedding, but with the blood test results in and all the symptoms, its not a guess anymore as to her being or not being preggers. The expected 'due date' is.. October 3rd! lol That's Awesome :D

WOOT!! Now for the other exciting news.. the name : Lets see- Anakin Fett Maiz... Padme Skywalker Maiz... Joseph Maiz the VI.. hmmm all the choices :D If you got a suggestion, email it to me or submit a remark :)

With this news, we are still going on the cruise next month, but it looks like the wedding in the fall is out. but it also means that I know what I will be doing this summer.. Fixing up the 2nd room, and it should be relatively easy.

Also, with the news comes additions to the website - notice on the right side there is a link to a PHOTO site; look for all pics in there. I will post them here but they will all be on the public section of the site.

We also got a newer car (#2); 2006
Mitsubishi Galant, as pictured here. Its a grey color, with 16000 miles on it, side air bags and ABS for a meager $14000 :) Its going to be a nice 2nd vehicle for us, as with the baby coming Nicole and I will need 2 vehicles for sure. This way, she can make Dr appointments and so on while I can still get to school and work.

In other news, Xbox 360 has been fresh lately, as I have been playing some good games online - R6 Vegas and Gears of War, as well as the Call of Duty 3 online. The next big game will be Guitar Hero 2 next month, but not before R6 Vegas releases the map expansion pack online - it includes the fun Assassination option, which goes back to the half-life days of the old guy with the umbrella :P This time, the 'El Presidente' gets a handgun..

SCHOOL: Sucks! Two math classes and one is a tough monster - the book is terrible and the instructor is just as bad. At least the probability class isn't too bad.. the material isn't total Greek. I just hope that I pass the ECES class.

WORK: Nothing new here - no trips on the future and rumors of moving our office location have started up with some more equipment coming soon. We will see what the deal is and as usual, but told a day later and dollar short on the when and where..

HOME: Well, as stated before, we have goals this coming project summertime - the Baby's room! Carpet, paint and a general 'get rid of junk' phase will be held shortly after we get out of this winter mess that came from the storm last night. Also, look for a floor project to happen for the dining room and possible kitchen area, as I learned a lesson from Carlos Molina - kids and carpet don't mix.

PAINTBALL: Nothing new so far, BUT Scott did email me about trying to make the NJNAM game coming this summer time - June 1-3 2007. It looks like it will ROCK!! An airstrip means that there will be helo inserts, airdrops, carpet bombing and a ton of other stuff that was never there before. I suspect with all of the new additions, it will also include a NEW price so i hope it isn't too much more.

Oh well, it seems that today is 'go home early day' and our customer has input the 59 minute rule.. so with that I will be eating my lunch and probably skipping school with all the lovely ice on the ground :P

Freezin in Feburary

Hey all,

ITS FRIKING COLD!!! Its a lovely 10 currently with signs of hockey score-like temperatures from now till next week! THIS SUCKS!! I called my dad in CA and he tells me that its summertime like weather out there. Yea yea.. On a different note, I'm dropping off the pictures today from the wedding the other week, so I hope to have a CD to send out west by Friday and post a few up here. On to events...

SCHOOL: Nothing too exciting - same as usual. I got mid-terms next week in both classes, so that will be alot of fun :P Never 2 math at once classes ever again. EVER. Someone remind me why I am putting myself thru this hell of Drexel for a piece of paper...

XBOX: Well, Call of Duty 3 is good online. Last night Carlos and I teamed up in a motorcycle and sidecar and drove around shooting everyone - we were laughing so hard.. Also, Guitar Hero 2 comes out the first week of March officially at its slated to be a meager $90 !!! Give me a break guys! Also, my favorite old school game comes to the arcade next week: ROOTBEER TAPPER. Yea baby! Start up the tips! Off line, I'm now on mission 2 on the Rainbow 6 Vegas game and its good so far. I'm about to breach a vault in the basement of a casino, so that should be a shooting gallery :P On a side note, Eric got 360 now!! Now we gotta get him a few games to boot and the old gamin gang will be back :P

GAMING: WE did another game day at the condo with Wayne and his kids, Trever and Taylor, Nicole friends Michelle and Quino, and Amy. WE busted out BOOTLEGGERS and tried it out - turned out that we were doing some of the rules wrong, but oh well - its a good game. After that, we played a round of BANG and sheriff Amy and crew won the game. We ended the night with some brutal hands of UNO and when finished, it was 11 and called it. I hope to do another in a few weeks, as Bootleggers is another winner with Settlers and Puerto Rico.

SUPERBOWL: Well, I didn't vote for him, but Peyton and crew won it. I voted for MVP Rhodes, as he was the guy who turned it up for the game. Getting the tough yards and grinding it out was the way to go. Check out TMQ this week and see what he said about it. Grats to the Colts and everyone else.. Oh, and tell Groseman that the pop warner team wants him back again, and not to forget his flags..

MOVIES: Its starting. 300 in a month and Ghostrider is next weekend. Should be better than the rash of trash that came out over the last 3 months. Too bad the Narnia series died out - I was looking forward to #2.

CRUISE: Is almost here! WE got about 6 weeks or so and we are out of here :P A buddy here at work just came back from his cruise and told me that it was fun, but some of the islands were total 3rd world countries - Dominica and another one ... forget. I don't care - 6 days at sea with no phones, no computer and my best friend and partner in crime Nicole :D

OH WELL - back to it... Look for some pics soon and a few other important things :D
